On December 12, 2005, the world lost a joyful and courageous soul. In this space, I honor the memory of Emma Carroll, a humanitarian aid worker whose courageous and innovative work with children in Afghanistan brought comfort, relief, and dignity to so many young people. I was among the many whose lives Emma touched and forever changed. On this two year anniversary of your death, Emma, you are greatly missed.
